I'm fresh out of ideas for Friday Fun Threads here. I've done the Top Ten cars from all the major American car manufacturers (and some of the minor ones as well). I've done most European and Japanese cars, too. I've done famous cars, movie cars, animated cars; I've done hood ornaments, engines, and tail fins; I've done trucks, motorcycles, and even station wagons. I'm running out of ideas, and I need your help:

ReplyDeleteTop ten incongruous cars.
ReplyDeleteNo, that's not a sedan that was driven into the Senate chambers. It means a car that is clearly trying to look like something it's not. For example, an old Honda Civic hatchback, which was approximately the size of a large rollerskate and had four scrawny hamsters under the hood, with a luggage rack on the roof. Or that old mid-70s Oldsmobile that had a tan fake-leather-looking roof and C-pillars, so that from a distance it looked like a convertible.

The '71 and '72 were the only two years of SBs to have the traditional flat dashboard and windshield.
From '73 onward, the SB had the foam formed dash and curved windshield.
Proud (former) owner of both '71 and '72 SBs.....('71 was my first car.)

ReplyDeleteI was 16 in 1978 and I was pretty sure the Dunebuggy was 1967...I put a Superbeetle motor in it. We got one from a junkyard and the neighbor helped me rebuild it. Thing went like hell....Then a loose washer jammed the oil pump and that was it :(....
