If Wishes Were Fishes...

...we'd all be covered in worm guts. Or something like that.

Ahab has a wish list for Mssrs. Sturm und Ruger.

I've got my own list, and it's for folks even closer to me... Just in case anyone from Smith & Wesson is reading this blog [ed: HA! Right!], I would just lurve it if you could chamber a j-frame in the screamin' new .327 Federal Magnum.

Especially if you can make it a 6-round magazine like the .32 H&R Magnum. Since the .327 Federal Magnum will chamber the .32 H&R Magnum as well as the .32 S&W long cartridges, there's plenty of shooty goodness to be had.

And the .327 Fed Mag seems to have nearly the same performance as the .357 Magnum, with the added benefit of a sixth round...

That is all.

I dunno, we're talking between 85 and 115 grain bullets. It defeintly doesn't sound like a round to scoff at, but I'd prefer somthing of a little fatter diameter and a little more bullet weight. Velocity is not EVERYTHING IMHO.

Oh and if Smith IS indeed listening, how about cranking out 1911s in 10mm Auto? They torpedoed that round years ago to let their .40 S&W get a foothold, now the .40 has a firm place in american gun safes, I want cheap and easy-to-find 10mm Auto guns and ammo!

Arrrr

I wouldn't be surprised to see someone offering a 125 grain JHP were the round to catch on. That's what I carry in my 360PD right now, and with the reduced diameter, that'd be a real screamer. But you've got a good point - it'd be better to have a 158 gr. .357 Magnum round and only 5 of 'em.

'Course... It also would depend on the recoil. If felt recoil is significantly less with the .327 vs. the .357, it becomes a much more attractive round...

And I'm right there with you on the 10mm SW1911.

Although I'd *MUCH* rather see a MA-legal Defender-sized SW1911 first... ;)

Now you're talking my talk, Jay

A scandium frame defender! BEAUTY! Chamber it in 10mm, I'd say that would be near perfection in a BUG
