Why Is It...

...That even though I've been out of high school for nearly 20 years, seeing my school's name on the list of schools closed because of snow puts a smile on my face?

Weird, man.

Now, if only work would cancel as easily as school...

Move to the south. The first sign of anything other than rain causes a mad rush to the grocery stores for bread & milk and nonstop local news coverage of "storm 200X". One hundredth of an inch means every gov't school shuts down.

Last week there were some middle school basketball games canceled due to heavy RAIN in the forecast. I guess they don't want people in a large facility that has extra support beams and emergency equipment on the ready if needed, just in case someone sees lightning nearby. 3

You know, lightning. And thunder. And heavy rain. In the south.

Yeah, thunderstorms NEVER happen here.....[/sarcasm]
