In my short ride to work, I heard the following:
- "Love Removal Machine" by The Cult
- "One" by Metallica
- "Stone Free" by Jimi
- "Yankee Rose" by David Lee Roth
- "Sledgehammer" by Peter Gabriel
The likelihood of hearing any two of these songs in a given ride to work on standard radio is pretty slim. The likelihood of hearing 20+ minutes of inane chatter, OTOH...
That is all.

I have a long commute and have been listening to XM for years. You can never go back to commercial. Talk shows if you want it, music without commercials, and the Red Sox on the radio while driving home today - in NJ.
Hell, I haven't heard "One" played on the commercial airwaves in over 10 years.
That alone would make me want to subscribe.
I have a lot of windshield time in my job, commuting 4 1/2 hours to my most distant sites across eastern Montana. If you want to go MAD SLOWLY, listen to AM radio around here. And the price of cattle is....and the price of corn is...and...or you get one of the native american stations that plays their music and chants. If it weren't for XM, they'd have medically retired me years ago on a 'mental'.
XM has kept me from going nuts as I spent 12 out of every 14 days on the road... Looking forward to the upcoming merger, would love to get NFL on XM (or whatever they call it after).
