Where Does The Time Go?

Only 12 more days until Buy A Gun Day. Crap. I meant to post this two days ago...

Sadly, there's a distinct lack of dough-ray-me in the Buy A Gun Fund. It's either going to be milsurps or nothin' this year.

Unless I can unload something in the next week and a half. Of course, at this point, there's nothing I want to unload...

There is one other option, though - filling a gaping hole in the armory...

That is all.

Glad someone mentioned it. I had to jump on a good deal on 4/1. I hope that is close enough, not sure I could affoed another in two weeks.

BUT the one I got was on a shelf right next to it's little brother and they could keep each other company !

The one you got last month counts. You just got it early.

I grabbed a 91/30 for 75 bux shipped to my door.

Can't beat that price.

Already ordered my firearm. Rossi 92 lever action carbine, blue, 16" barrel, .45 colt. Expect it by mid next week.

Wally,

Let me be the devil on your shoulder: Buy it. That poor little brother needs to be with his family...

Bolt,

If I'd gotten it at the end of the month I'd agree with you; however I got it the very beginning of March.

I'll need to get something new. It's in the rules... *g*

Weer'd,

The M44 is on the short list of "cheap C&R guns I could get" (I already have a 91/30...)

mike,

Sweeeeet! Let me know how it shoots. I've been thinking about a Rossi .357/.38 lever gun.

I've shot another dude's Rossi levergun in .45 Colt.

It was very very nice.

I sold off my AR poodleshooter last weekend, so today I'm going to go get a 1911...

Unless all you folks giving me other ideas sidetrack me into a rifle...

An M1 from the CMP...

I'm running early on mine, because I had to order it. It's a repro'd Mosin 91/20 sniper rifle. $400 from IO for a reproduction seemed like a better deal than twice that from R Guns for a real one, since I intend to shoot it, not just collect it.

Colt Python for me and a Ruger .30 Carbine New Model Blackhawk for the wife.

freddy,

I hope you got the 1911. Everyone should have multiple 1911s. Sometimes I feel inadequate because I only have three... ;)

scott,

An M1 carbine from CMP is an excellent choice; if I had that much to spend that'd be a serious consideration...

EBM,

Now you're just trying to make me jealous... And it's working...

From what I hear, the repro snipers are generally just as good as the real thing, shooting-wise, so if you're getting one to be a shooter you should be pleased as punch.

Now pick up a drilled & tapped K98 so you can play both sides of "Enemy at the Gates"... :)

MC,

Okay, now I'm REALLY jealous. My local gun pusher has a 6" Python for a reasonable price (i.e. not INSANELY inflated due to the artifically high MA price gouging), but it's still about a grand more than I have to spend.

And a .30 carbine Blackhawk is just too freakin' cool. The only thing that comes close is the 8-shot Tracker from Taurus...

No can do, Jay. I don't do WW2 German stuff, unless it has capture marks or marking indicating use by other nations afterwards (such as Israel).

I'm just weird that way, I know.

Anyway, between the Mosin sniper, a regular Mosin 91/30, a M1903A1 and a M1, I ought to be set for the next time the Wehrmacht marches over the ridge.... :)
