Here's A Shock...

Poll: Debate watchers say Obama wins

HEMPSTEAD, New York (CNN) -- A majority of debate watchers think Sen. Barack Obama won the third and final presidential debate, according to a national poll conducted right afterward.

Fifty-eight percent of debate watchers questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll said Democratic candidate Obama did the best job in the debate, with 31 percent saying Republican Sen. John McCain performed best.

58% to 31%? On. What. PLANET?

Apparently Barack Obama could have walked out onto the stage buck nekkid, covered in jello, and yodeled the Latvian National Anthem for 90 minutes and been declared the winner by the mainstream media. To those of us who actually watched the debate, though, we saw a man clearly outclassed by his opponent. He "uhh"'d his way through the debate, alternating between looking bored and/or irritated at the entire process.

Whereas McCain came out swinging, staying on-message and taking carefully aimed critical potshots at Obama throughout the night. Obama dodged questions - notice he never answered if Sarah Palin were qualified to be President, for example - whereas McCain answered straight back. "I'm not Bush" was probably McCain's most memorable quote from the night, but he had a number of hard-hitting jabs that clearly rattled Obama.

He's not used to that kind of treatment - he is The One, after all. People don't expect him to provide actual answers, you know...

So, yawn, the MSM declares Obama the winner by a preposterous margin. Whatever. I could vote for the John McCain I saw last night. It's a shame that he chose three weeks before the election to finally unveil this side.

That is all.

McCain did a lot of damage the debate before this one, simply by not doing anything. He was overly gracious to his opponent and he should have come out f**king SWINGING and BITING, I'm talking Tyson versus Holyfield.

We keep hearing McCain is erratic and has anger issues...those needed to come out a little earlier. He needed to drop bombs: Rezko, ACORN, Wright, Ayers, not give The One room to breath, let him loosen his collar a little bit, make his sorry ass sweat.

That's what I was waiting to see.

I'll probably have a post up on the CBS poll, linking back to the VP debate poll I blogged about earlier.

I suspect the "report" accompanying the CBS poll will be lacking certain "details".

I still wanted McCain to hammer that scumbag with:

"Senator McCain, when I was eight years old, Jews were still being killed in Nazi death camps. You don't see me collaborating with former Nazi soldiers to reform our country's prison system."

McCain did well, but the failure to not only show how Obama is hip deep in the pockets of Fanny Mae/Freddy Mac & would be working with congressional leaders (Frank, Dodd) who got us into this trillion dollar - and counting - mess and naming names & showing how they got us to 'here', but to even bring up the subject at all & instead recite the "cutting earmarks" talking points could be the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.

Get ready for the open door to socialism, folks. I know I'm already moving around my money/assets in prep.

BTW, McCain shoulda used the "I" word on the topic of Obama lying about the born alive act. I as in, infanticide, which is most certainly is.

Prediction: you won't see a mention about that anywhere outside of the righty segments of the internet/radio today. Letting live babies die takes a backseat to calm demeanor and "sharing the wealth". If it is brought up & his blatant lie exposed, then I'll confess error...if not, the MSM is officially dead to me.

Get ready. Your W-2s are never going to look the same again.

Thanks for the mess, President Bush. This is all your doing by not firing Rumsfeld & bringing about the surge two years earlier.

I decided long ago who I was going to vote for because I know where I stand on the issues and I pay attention to where they stand on the issues.

That's why, even though I'm going to vote for him, I'm not very happy with McCain...but he's better than the alternative.

Be that as it may, I always watch the debates with the "undecided voter" in mind. That's who they're aimed at. In My Humble Opinion, your typical undecided voter either doesn't care enough to find out the history o the candidates or is naive enough to just take the candidates campaign promises at face value. They probably haven't researched the issues well enough to have any clear understanding of what the issues are, let alone where the candidates stand on them. Because of their lack of understanding about the issues, they are, most likely, going to be watching the debate with a "What's in it for me" attitude and an eye towards "who is more likable".

Obama tells these types of people what they want to hear: We're going to take money from those eeeevil rich people and give it to YOU. We're going to make those eeeevil corporations reduce what they charge you for health insurance. We're going to guarantee that all kids are going to be given PHDs for free that pumping even more money into the schools will REALLY work this time...trust me.

We're going to appoint Supreme Court justices who are "fair" and know when to ignore that pesky "Constitution" thing when its for the good of some people. We're going to make the rest of the world love us and give us puppies by being nice and never using harsh language and letting them tell us how to run our country the RIGHT way rather than stubbornly sticking to that whole "liberty" and "independence" thing.

OK. I'm getting a little worked up so I'd better stop.

The basic idea is that he panders well to the ignornant. McCain does too, but not as effectively.

Besides, Obama is prettier (although I can't get over those ears personally...that's all I can look at, it's quite distracting...maybe that's the idea?) and everyone knows that being good looking is MUCH more important than silly things like policy or positions.

That's why Obama "wins" these debates.

I will say that McCain did MUCH better than he did in previous ones, but it matters not in the ranks of "undecided voters" if he still doesn't tell them what they want to hear.

The line of the night was, "The fact that Bill Ayers is the centerpiece of your campaign says more about your campaign than it does about me"

McCain is a sad caricature. Even FOX news said he lost last night. He is an embarrassment to watch my friends.

Get ready for socialism indeed. We are nationalizing the banks under Republican stewardship.

I am not in the least little bit afraid of what a Democrat might do to me after living through 8 years of Bush the Son.

After Barack lets live babies die do you reckon he eats them?

McCain may be a sad caricature, but Obama is an empty suit, Buck.

How many times did he "uh" his way through a question?

How many times did he lie through his fucking teeth?

And how many times did the media fact-check him today?

You may be fine with the media hand-picking our next President.

I'm not.

Four years of Obama will have you longing for the good old days of the Bush administration.

Trust me. I'm living under mini-Obama right now...
