Memory Hole...

Hey, if someone's got a spare couple of hours, you know what would be an instructive project?

Comb through news reports, press releases, and Obama campaign propaganda and take screen shots (saving URLs is pointless given the Obama campaign's penchant for making things that make them look bad disappear) of all the stories about how poorly the economy is doing. Extra attention should be paid to direct statements by The One or Mr. Gaffe, of course.

Because I have a feeling we're going to hear "we can't do _X_ because we didn't realize how bad the economy was" a lot in the coming months...

And it would be nice to have information to the contrary - that they did, indeed, know just how bad it was - to serve up against them. Because, well, we all know that the mainstream media will be on top of things and perform the necessary journalism to point out The One's errors, right?

Right?

No, I mean it. Stop laughing!

That is all.

I don't know, but the media has no morals. I think that in time when they really start to feel the pain of folks ignoring them that they will turn on Obama like everyone else they have supported. They are scum that need attention and will do whatever they think they need to so they get it.

It will take a while but after he is in office I think it will get ugly. The media wants the spot light and they don't share for long. . .

Jay,
Did you notice that Obama's page on "Urban Policy" at change.gov has disappeared? Urban policy was where he buried his stances on gun control. Guess he didn't bury it deep enough to prevent us "moles" from finding it.

How does this sound:

"I had hoped to invest in your future by creating jobs, expanding education, reforming health care and reducing the debt without asking more of you,"

"But I can't -- because the deficit has increased so much beyond my earlier estimates and beyond even the worst official Government estimates of last year. We just have to face the fact that to make the changes our country needs, more Americans must contribute today so that all Americans can do better tomorrow.

"But I can assure you of this: you're not going alone, you're not going first, and you're no longer going to pay more and get less...[]

[]..."Seventy percent of the new taxes I'll propose -- 70 percent -- will be paid by those who make more than $100,000 a year."

- circa 1993, Bill Clinton

I think I can hear the beeping from the lift truck carrying all the backtracking that they're going to do in order to explain how 95% really aren't going to get the tax cuts they were promised. Woulda been nice if he'd been questioned on that, huh?

JD,

I'm not so sure they're going to turn on Obama.

They're in this up to their necks - they didn't just ignore stories like they did with Clinton, they actively sabotaged the McCain campaign and went after anyone who spoke out against The One (ref: Joe the Plumber).

If Obama fails, they fail. Expect "Baghdad Bob"-like levels of reporting accuracy should the economy remain on its downward spiral...

brad,

Oh yeah. Making things disappear seems to be a specialty with this cat. I hear his code name with the Sec. Service is "Houdini"...

RW,

BINGO. Although what'll happen is they'll just scrub the archives clean - never happened.
