Possibly they'd just list it with an asterisk, saying "Not legit because the Paulites spammed it".
Which is actually kinda fair; "buy this book to get it on the list so people will notice it" is kinda the opposite of real popularity, isn't it?
Kinda like why Dianetics is a perennial best-seller - because Scientologists buy lots and lots of copies.
