Inexplicable Snow Day

Okay, so my kids are home today because school is canceled due to snow. There's less than two freakin' inches on the ground, and it's already turned over to sleet/freezing rain. The forecast is for a complete conversion to rain sometime this afternoon. And yet they canceled school...

That's okay, I wound up turning in three sick days last year. I've got the time...

Anyhoo, what's going on in the intarwebz today? Looks like I've got nothing to do and all day to do it today. Assuming, of course, that I don't go stark raving mad from the kids bouncing off the walls, that is... ;)

That is all.

Your exception is my routine every day, friend. And the recycling dude at the town dump wonders how one household can produce so many empty 1/2-gallon booze bottles...

Marko, I envy you deeply for being able to stay home with your kids.

That is my dream job.

Even when they're so hopped up on sugar they're practically vibrating... ;)

Just got the oil changed in the generator, as the word is ice all day here.
Gee, I can't wait to do THAT all over again...

We gotta get you a flamethrower, DT.

You'd still be stuck with no power, but I'd bet you'd at least have a smile on your face...

Good luck my friend...

Yeah, I wouldn't have it any other way. It's a challenge sometimes, but what worthy thing isn't?

Hmmm... I like that flamethrower idea Jay; let's get ON it.

And Marko,- yeah- I still wouldn't trade fer a city crib!

Marko, Jay G, it is a wonderful routine, but it cuts both ways. My youthful wards are getting to an age, now, where tempers flare fueled by preteen "girl" chemicals. I feel, at times, like leaving the tent a la Captain L.E.G. Oates... "I am just going outside and may be some time." I expect a cairn to be placed on the pack at the end of my driveway.

Jay,
Snow's not the issue -- ICE is the issue. My progeny's school in Fitchburg has been canceled too.

Flamethrower ought not to be too difficult to build. Just need a couple of scuba tanks, one filled with propellant, the other with the juice. I good machinist should be able to rig up the regulator & the business end of the device, connect it all with high pressure HVAC rubber hose and "push pull click click" you've got a flame thrower. Just sayin.

In other news . . . . Nancy Pelosi has proposed new house rules & procedures which would prevent the other side of the aisle from offering competing bills, etc. Just hit google news with "pelosi house rules change" and you'll see the firestorm brewing.

No school! Whoo hoo! Party at Jays!

;-)

Oh, and Doubletrouble? Just make sure your Flamethrower doesn't end up as an episode of "Country Fried Home Videos." Stay safe out there.

;-)

If there's anyone I know who could make a flamethrower, doubletrouble would be the one.

One of the most frightening (and totally TEH AWESOME) thoughts would be to get DT together with og (the Neanderpundit) and a garage full of tools and assorted metals.

I have a feeling they'd garagineer a working Apache attack helo with working mini-guns inside of an afternoon...
