Tryin' Something Different...

I've been trying to add a motorhead post on Fridays to compliment the gun pr0n. I was trying to come up with a good list for tomorrow, when it dawned on me. I've got a right smart bunch of commenters. Why not let them pick tomorrow's list?

So here's the question: What list (that has not yet been covered) would y'all like to see?

I'll be honest here and say that "micro-compact cars of the former Soviet bloc" might not exactly hold my interest long enough to make a top ten list, but other than that, give me a subject to dig into. Cars, trucks, motorcycles... Pretty much anything's up for discussion.

Thanks in advance for the ideas!

That is all.

Engines you can beat the living crap out of.

For instance, I've heard that the AMC 4.2L 6-cyl found in an old Jeep could be shot at with anti-tank rounds and still run just fine. True? False? Only JayG knows for sure ...

Top 10 "doomed to fail from the beginning?"

Top 10 "cars to make love to your old lady in?"

Top 10 "cars that should be brought back into production?"

Top 10 "engines you can recognize the sound of without seeing the car?"

I don't know. Just trying to help you brainstorm. I like the lists.

Apologies if you've done those lists and I missed them.

Well with the weather we have been having how about the top 10 ice skates or maybe top 10 cars you least want in a NE winter. . .

= )

Or maybe the top 10 cars you want to crush with a truck due to the way the hippies drive them. . .

Talk about clothes. Clothes make the man. I believe that. You say to me you want to go shopping, you want to buy clothes, but you don't know what kind. You leave that hanging in the air, like I'm going to fill in the blank, that to me is like asking me who you are, and I don't know who you are, I don't want to know. It's taken me my whole life to find out who I am, and I'm tired now, you hear what I'm saying?

Top ten pocket rockets.

Top ten REAL all-terrain vehicles -- not some damned yuppy suburban assault vehicle, but something that can really go anywhere. I'm talking Land Rover class. To get any further off road you need something with legs, not wheels.

Considering the current weather, top ten snowmobiles might not be amiss...

I haven't been here long, but I'm not sure I've seen the top ten trucks. Or, more specifically, the top ten 4X4's.

Top 10 "Quickest Disappointment after driving off the lot", in honor of The One's upcoming coronation.

Yeah, Liberty kicked my ass, but that's all I got. ;-)

Liberty,

I like the way you think... The "Top Ten that should go back into production" may very well someday be reincarnated as "Top Ten Retro Cars Detroit Should Make (But never will)"...

Hunter,

I think I'm going to use that one for tomorrow's post. I like it. Thanks!

JD,

Ooooh, there's another good one: Top Ten Cars associated with filthy hippies"... And, the following week: "Top Ten cars associated with conservatives"...

NJT,

I'm guessing that comes from onna them movin' picture shows, eh?

I think Wolkwalker and Sara have a winner in "Top Ten Best Off-Road Vehicles"

Rustmeister,

Unfortunately, what I know about Brit bikes boils down to, uh, Triumph. And BSA...

Ted,

"Top Ten Best Milers"... That may have to wait until gas goes back to $4 a gallon...

Everyone,

Thanks for the great ideas!!! I'm set for like another month you - you guys RAWK!

(Incidentally, I came up with one after I posted this: "Top Ten Convertibles" - that should be a good one, think it'll be next week's...)

I'm thinking something about bikes is in order. Maybe something simple, like Top Ten Cruisers, or American bikes or something. A post those of us would-be enthusiasts could learn a little something off of.

Also

The 10 Best Vehicles for a Large Family
(I'll nominate the new model of the Dodge Durango, it's not quite as huge as a Suburban but can carry 7-8. And the back seats are actually reasonably comfortable for adults. Mileage is okay on hwy, sucks in the city. Roomy, decent cargo storage and able to tow around 4 tons.

How about Top 10 movie cars? Like the 68 Mustang Fastback (Bullitt) or 70 Challenger R/T (Vanishing Point)?
