Found via Unc, a list of the 10 manliest firearms:
#10: SMLE
Nope. But want one.
#9: Mosin-Nagant M44
Err, well, it was going to be a surprise this Friday...
#8: GLOCK
Got my G30 last year.
#7: Swiss K31 Carbine.
Nope. But want one.
#6: AK47
Got one. It's busted, but I have one...
#5: Smith & Wesson Model 29
If a Model 629 counts, I have one...
#4: AR15
Yep. Just got my Bushmaster.
#3: Remington 870
I've got a Winchester 1300 and a Mossberg 590. Close enough.
#2: Colt Model 1911A1 .45 ACP
Got three, including a 1991A1.
#1: Barrett M82 .50 caliber rifle
Lottery gun.
Looks like I have some buyin' to do...
That is all.

I agree with other commenters that the Garand badly needs to be on this list.
Don't agree with #7 either - real men have a K-11 instead of a K-31 ( I have 1 K-11 and 2 K-31's and prefer the K-11.)

I do believe my boy has an SMLE that he's thinking of selling. I know he's got the rifle & the carbine, but I don't know which he wants to let go (mebbe both?)
Lemmeno if you're interested...
zeeke42,
I heartily agree. As much as I'd love to get my hands on a K31, it's not what I think of as a "manly" rifle. Don't get me wrong - it's a fantastic shooter and a thing of beauty.
But an M1 Garand - the "greatest battle implement ever created" - belongs on the list more so than a K31...
joe r.,
Forgive my Swiss ignorance. Is the K11 the carbine version?
doubletrouble,
Of *course* I'm interested!!! :)
Now, whether Mrs. G. will let me get *another* gun is a different story... ;)
I'm shocked to know that I own two of the firearms on this list (Polish M44 Mosin and a shiny new Armalite AR).
I R Manly!!!1!

I read the original post and was wondering why he so harsh on Berrettas?
3 just going by the list and not counting duplicates. 4 if my Mossy can be counted under the 870.
I also agree the Grand deserves a spot far more then the K-31.
Also just because 4 is a VERY low number, I'd like to complain that my Colt Trooper is in fact a poor-man's Colt Python, and the Python NEEDS to be on that list!
How did you break an AK?
K11 was the shrink down of the G11 rifle. The Swiss did figure out that a shorter rifle would be more handier than the long rifle would be and shrunk the G11 down to carbine size. Bad part about the shrink was that the action still was expensive to make and they needed to simplify. The end result was the K31. Nice rifle and harder to find than the K31's but fun to shoot.

Sigivald,
Busted a couple rivets loose.
It's something I could most likely fix with a couple of sheet metal screws and some Loctite, but it's way down the list of shit I need to get done right now...
Thanks for the link to original post. I've a copy of list without author's name. Nice to make attribution. As for my own:
10. Have 2. Have to buy .303 in case lots.
9. Have M-59 ChiCom variant
8. Don’t like plastic. But for another .45 I’d consider it.
7. Not yet. Fired my buddies. Want badly!!
6. No AK. Never will. Well, maybe a Finnish one. When I win the lottery.
5. I’ve a S&W 625 in .45acp. Ammo commonality with #2 trumps 629 studliness.
4. Bushmaster A2 variant
3. Remington 870 is in closet with high wall police brass 00 buck loads.
2. Of course. What sort of American are you if you don’t have a 1911??
1. Yet another lottery gun.
