...Getting the first, last, and only two boxes of .45 ACP at Wally World...
That little pokka-pokka sound as the ammo jiggles in the boxes when you jounce over frost heaves is the sound of freedom, mes amis...
That is all.

I'm a little worried about the ammo situation. I still have trouble finding .40 and .45 in any large quantity.
Yeah, I absconded with the last two boxes of .38 Special from my Wally World the other day.
alan,
Tell me about it. When I hit the ammo counter at Wally World, they were still picked bare. I commented to the Sporting Goods guy, "Wow, you sold out again".
He replied, "Not again. Still"
Apparently they've been getting ammo in by the box. Note singular...
Rustmeister,
I got lucky with .38 special at the gun show last month - box of 200 wadcutters (indoor range at my club is lead-only) for like $45...
If the same vendor is at the show next month I'm getting two boxes...
I had a phone call from a colleague who works out in the L.A. area, he can't get 9 mm. ANYWHERE.
ALL- Atlanta Arms and Ammo- They are reasonable, they ship and they do have ammo in house! It's quality stuff, even the reloaded practice stuff!
I know this is going to be shocking, but I've NEVER bought ammo at Walmart. There's just something about receiving large quantities of ammo right at your doorstep.
.45 has now been added to the arsenal though. Great, another caliber to stock up on.

'splains it all.
Not going to get better soon.
Hehe, I'd say happiness is...well... Oh, a _pile_ of .45 ready to be reloaded...
Just finished ordering 500 of 5.56 steel case Wolf from Midway, and I'm happy to have found it. It's a matter of luck finding in stock anywhere, something I never thought I'd say about Wolf. Non-reloadable goes in the ammo bank; all that brass I've stockpiled over the years because I'm a scrounger at heart is finally useful. Building your own is the way to go these days.
Happiness is a Matter of the Mind. Nobody has to be unhappy. I wrote a book about this and it made me happy just writing it. Read my book: Happiness--A Matter of the Mind. Order it at Amazon,B/N, Target, or iUniverse. Look up my website: www.mschmidtbooks.com
I picked up two boxes of 9mm at Academy but they were totally out of everything else. Wallyworld was completely out of everything except .22s. Had to get my .38 specials at Carter's country. Will need to hit the show next weekend to get more .380s. Even the range was rationing ammo yesterday.
Have gotten into the habit of calling the two local WalMarts several early mornings (at their suggestion!)a week to inquire if anything came in that morning/night before. After weeks of nothing, this past Tuesday one said a couple boxes of Win .45 ACP had just come in. I rushed straight there, expecting literally two boxes. They had two cases! I bought three boxes then and there (about 8AM), went into work, thought about it, and went back on my break to grab two more (they were almost out - remember, this was a Tuesday morning). I've felt much better since.
