Friday Gun Pr0n #107

Time to show off the Buy A Gun Day Acquisition!

Do you know who designed this?

Fabrique Nationale/Browning Hi-Power in 9mm. It's a locked-breech, semi-automatic, single action pistol with 13+1 capacity. This particular pistol was sent to Buenos Aires as a police sidearm; however, it is Belgian-made, not Argentinian.

I can't wait to get this beauty to the range...

That is all.

Sure do, John Moses Browning's last design, ably finished by Dieudonne Saive. Looks like you have a nice pistol. Also, 9mm ammo seems to be available more than others right now. Have fun!

I thought it was Sam Colt, the greatest pistol designer ever.

I yield to no man in my love for JMB's 1911. However, I swear, if Browning made a High Power in .45 ACP (based on their beefier .40 S&W frame), I'd carry one instead of a 1911. It is, unquestionably, one of the finest guns ever made.

libertyman,

Thanks! I've had my eye on a Hi-Power for a while now, in my ever-widening quest for one of every firearm JMB ever designed...

Sigboy,

Samuel Colt may have made equal, but there's just no comparing the SAA with the semi-auto most famously associated with his name...

Which was designed by JMB (PBUH)...

Kim,

Ooh, you'll like a future Friday picture then. I'm planning on a 1911/Hi-power show-down...

...and it's got that beautiful "been around the block " look to it. I sure would want to know about it's past life!
Well done Jay!!

Sweet!

They are pretty darn nice guns. I lean toward the Glock 19 because it is such a compact package but the HP is a great gun.

I am old enough to have owned many pistols in my life ... At least one of just about every caliber known to man. The Browning hi power is the sweetest of them all. It is like an extension of your own arm. At current price points, it is the very best value as well.
