I think the surest sign that a new and "improved" version of the Assault Weapons Ban is on the horizon is that the media keeps telling us how much of a non-issue it is... Of course, with shelves at local retailers running empty on ammo and Firehand's account of a gun show where .380 ACP was selling for $80/100 rounds, they may not actually have to enact a ban. $80 for 100 rounds. That's more expensive than .30-30 hunting rounds...
Pay no attention to the water temperature, my fellow amphibians...
That is all.

Well also note the Media is pointing to mediocre poll numbers and saying "AMERICA THINKS OBAMA IS DOING JUST GREAT!!!"
Now I'll be the first to admit that Obama is as Stupid as the left thought Bush was, but I don't think he's THAT stupid to commit Political Seppuku on that fine Oval Office desk...at least in his first term.
We Run Romney at the top of a ticket, then we'll be looking at an AWB. (Hell even if Romney WINS...which he won't)
(BTW over Easter dinner my Mom expressed a very unreserved notion of Buyer's remourse over President Zero)
Jay,
There's a thread running at NES about how a treaty called CIFTA, if ratified, would be a backdoor form of gun control. Perhaps you've seen the thread. Scary stuff, were it to come to fruition.

When I was buying somr .38 spl (and the Beretta) I was listening to some cross talk from someone who'd been at the Saxet gun show that day.
They said that even the reloads were more expensive than they could buy at the gunshop.
The gunshop is limiting buys to one box per caliber per person per day.
Acadamy is completely out and so are most of our hardware stores.
