Excelsior!

Some days, you're the hydrant, some days, you're the dog. Today was my day to be the dog:

SCORE!

Yep. 200 rounds of both 9mm *AND* the elusive .380 ACP. With a Federal bulk pack .22LR thrown in for good measure. Apparently my good deed of supplying Dad G. in his hour of need led to a positive surge in my ammo karma, for a chance trip into teh evil megalomart yielded a treasure trove of ammo to be found.

And no, they were not limiting the number of boxes one could purchase - that was limited only by my credit card balance...

That is all.

I dont know wether to be happy for you, or to show you my bitter jealousy. The neighbor kids have been hitting me up for 22lr, I'm about to the point where I have to tell them no.

Lucky bastard. I can't find any of either south of Boston. . .

Good for you! Hopefully this is a sign of things to come. Today I was the hydrant. Struck out in my quest to buy motor oil for the bikes. I actually considered stopping in wallyworld on the off chance they would have what I need (and so I could check the ammo stock) but the idea of visiting walmart on a Saturday afternoon was just more then I could bear. Especially my local store. They literally bus in people to this store from the closest city since there is none there.

What did you have to give for the .380's? $35.00/50 in this neck of the woods,(Minnesota).

Sigboy,

I've been fortunate in that I've been stockpiling .22LR for a long time.

I made it a habit, years ago, of *always* picking up at least one bulk pack of .22LR *every* time I went into Wal-Mart. It was a good idea when it was $9/550rds, it's a good idea now that it's all the way up to $14/550 rds...

JD,

It's purely 100% luck of the draw. I hit three Wal-Marts in NH last weekend and came away completely empty-handed.

mopar,

It was pretty bad there, I have to admit. We were fortunate in that I was able to zip in and out (BabyGirl G. was at a birthday party so it was just The Boy and I). And finding the .380 was the icing on the cake...

Barry,

Ouch. You're going to hate me then. $32 for the 100 round box...

I was at a show last week end and bought a case of Fiochi 158gr subsonic 9mm for $17.00/box. It wasn't until Monday when I went to the local bang-shop and saw the price of regular (115gr)9mm -$23.00/box that I realized that I should have bought all the subsonic that the guy had.

The local WalMart guy had almost nothing to sell, and didn't know when anything was coming in. However, I found a case of 45 LC I had forgotten about in the process of packing and moving. Oh happy day!

Lucky dog! I finally scored some .380 yesterday in Academy down here. (FMJ & HP) for reasonable prices. Still no 9MM or 45.

I got a 100 round box of .357 Magnum and a 50 round box of 9mm today at Walmart.

What does this mean?

(Still no .45ACP, .380, .22LR, or .223)
