While it's certainly a tragedy, we've lost more toddlers in that time to drowning - yet there's not round the clock "Bucket Pandemonium" links...

Bucket Pandemonium! Anarchy! How will the Republic survive?!
Just another Lamestream Media's "Crisis Of The Month" hysteria. They don't want to report any of the bad things Obama's doing; and he hasn't done anything good in a week, so they have to fill in the space with something. Bet you they have a pinwheel on the wall somewhere with "Crises Of The Month" filled into each of the 12 pie slices for just such a time.
Sadly, I think it will get worse. There is nothing that the LSM loves more than a good panic. Remember, before Sept. 11 it was shark attacks.
The story will fade, but only after every good scare headline has been wrung out of it.
Yup. I was alarmed in the first few days of hearing about it, even went so far as to do my monthly shopping ahead of time, just in case. It had potential to be bad, but honestly, I think it's going to end up just like the "avian flu" panic of last year. Glad I'm prepared, just in case, but really, I can't help but think there's some sleight of hand going on. I have to wonder, just what are we being distracted from this time?

Funny, the Einsteins in the MSM don't see how one of the above is related to the rest ...
That baby was a Mexican visiting reletives in the valley (Brownsville), who was probably here illegally.
Which was why the long lead time before looking for treatment.
The latest round of viral infection has shown itself to be..... pretty much of a sissy batch.
However, I can read and remember, so here's two tidbits:
1. in 1918 100,000 us citizens croaked of the flu
2. since 1918, the total number of virus borne diseases we have been able to cure = 0.
Add in the million times more opportunities for the bugs to vector ( think airplanes and interstate highways and big schools and walmart).
Sneer if ya wanna, I am taking more basic sanitary precautions.
Mark,
There's a critical distinction that need be made here.
I'm not sneering at the flu itself. Tens of thousands of Americans die every year from strains of the flu.
It's the media's reaction to this particular strain that I sneer at - they so desperately want this to be TEOTWAWKI that you can practically taste it...
Taking basic sanitary precautions is always a good idea, especially if you have children or elderly in your care.
Getting worked up like a gaggle of headless chickens, though, helps no one...
