The iPhone mounted inside of a protective case on this M110 semiautomatic sniper rifle can make detailed ballistic calculations with the BulletFlight app. It can determine the effects of windage, distance, air pressure, humidity and temperature, which makes dialing in the position of the scope’s crosshairs far easier. ThinkYou can also surf the web at the range. How cool would that be?
different, and then take the perfect shot.
Here's the application:
Of course, some would argue I don't need a sophisticated computer program to plot the flight of my rounds into the berm...
That is all.

I think my Palm Pre is better than the iphone. No bullet flight app yet, but once someone writes one you'll be able to use other apps at the same time too.
All you need are eyes and ears, to look for the fountains of dirt, and to listen for the telltale absence of ringing steel...
Oooh, oooh, I know what you could do! You could bury some steel plates under a couple inches of dirt, right there in the berm!
Then you'd get that sound of ringing steel! How cool would that be?!?
Then I'd miss the GROUND. How embarassing would THAT be?
Rounds into the berm, you say? With help from an iPhone, you say?
I think that's about the time people stop calling you "wormkiller" and start calling you "High-Tech Wormkiller"!
Cheers, Jay!
Is anyone else wondering how well the electronic devices will stand up to the battering of recoil? I'm picturing a wad of sparking ICs and wiring leaking battery juices...
