Overheard in the G. House...

[whump][whump][whump][whump][whump][whump]

[Jay looks outside]

[whump][whump][whump][whump][whump][whump]

"TheBoy, knock it off! You're rattling the whole house!"

[silence]

[whump][whump][whump][whump][whump][whump]

Ah, yes. The sounds of soccer season commencing...

That is all.

Is this where I make the obligatory "at least it wasn't some other activity" comment?

Oh, and I'm sooooooo glad my days of coaching youth soccer are done. Never did like the way our soccer association ran things, and I got burned out quite quickly.

Heh. Some other activity would take less of a toll on the house... *g*

Before baseball season started, TheBoy turned to me one morning as we sat waiting for the bus, looked right into my eyes and said,

"Daddy, could you coach my baseball team this year?"

It was quite touching, and keeping from laughing uproariously was one of the harder parental things I've had to do...
