...waking up in your own bed after a week on a 3" thick "mattress" in a small metal box...
For the first time in a week, my back's not tied up in knots. This is a good thing. It's not going to last, though, because tomorrow I go back to {shudder} work to deal with a week's worth of neglect - the office was more or less empty all last week, and I have a feeling that the backlog is going to be epic...
But for now, I have one day left, and I'm going to enjoy it...
That is all.

You like small metal boxes, I prefer smaller fiberglass boxes (boats), or nylon bags (tents) but we both end up with the same 3" thick foam pad.
Y'know, it's the damnedest thing. When I go camping with the Scouts, I have a 1" thick pad and a sleeping bag, and I wake up feeling better than I do in the camper with an alleged "real" bed...
Then again, the last time I went camping was last November, when it was all of 29ºF when we woke up in the morning, so there's a good chance any pain was frozen out... ;)
For some reason I particularly enjoy camping at 6000+ feet in October and November.
Last time it was 13 in the morning.
'Course sharing a sleeping bag with my wife helps in that; but I agree I think it's because the pain gets frozen out.
