Sent out payment #30 of 60 on the mother Gaia-hatin' Ram yesterday. 30 down, 30 to go. With any sort of luck it'll be paid off in less than two years - just in time for Mrs. G. to pick out her plush new Pilot and start the process all over again...
Of course, the big question is, once the Ram's paid off, do I get a Challenger or a Camaro to complement it?
That is all.

I personally would go for the Mustang in that class of cars.
If it wasn't totally defunct and owned by government motors, I'd got for the Pontiac G8 overall.
What? No Mustang?
If you have to pick one, I'd say Challenger. Don't you have have a NJ license to own a Camaro? *grin*
My Dad's mid-life purchase was a robin's egg blue TR3.
If I'm spending that kind of money I'm buying something not so pig heavy.
Say an FD RX-7 (can you say LSx swap?)or JZA80 Supra TT
Mustangs are nice, but I HATE the current body style.
Weer'd - Pontiac? Meh, the G8 is pushing 5K lbs IIRC (see pig heavy)
If it has to be domestic an older stang or used Vette are the only way to go IMO.
I'd vote for the vette. 1963-1967 convert.
Next month is my last payment on my daughter's braces. Woo-hoo!
Jay, the shirt was placed in the mail today.

I totally agree with that complaint, and why I didn't agree with Jay's Camaro or Challenger choices, they are heavy pigs.
Still the G8 is NOT about being a stoplight bandit or making it fastest around the circuit, it's about a full-size car with a roomy back seat, a honkin' V8 with gobs of torque, and a 6-speed manual linked to power at the rear axle.
Essentially a BMW 5-series where you don't have to sell a child and a testicle for repair parts...nor do you need to read a 600 page manual just to learn how to turn on the radio.
But if we want light and quick can we all just have a raging hard-on for this car together?

Since there's only one company left (Ford -- the others are Government Motors now), Mustang it is.
Which is a shame, because me _luvs_ the Challenger.
The funniest part is that if I do actually buy a second car once the Ram is paid off it'll be a standard transmission Toyota Yaris or Nissan Versa...
If your not making payments on the Ram, why not start a payment plan on a Thompson, Uzi, Kalashnikov, or Sten? While they won't get you very far on the road, and the fuel for them is outrageously priced right now, at least you would have an asset that appreciates?
I'm about as likely to get permission from Mrs. G. to drop $10K+ on a FA gun as I am to get permission to visit a whorehouse with a fistful of $100 bills...

Those aren't bad cars for what they're meant to do. And a much better value than a hybrid, and better for the environment to boot!
Still a friend of mine calls them the Toyota Panis ; ]
