Part of My Childhood Died...

Wrestler, personality Captain Lou Albano dies at 76
(CNN) -- Legendary wrestling figure Captain Lou Albano, perhaps best known for his association with pop singer Cyndi Lauper, died Wednesday, according to World Wrestling Entertainment.

Albano, 76, was "one of the company's most popular and charismatic legends," the company said in a statement.

Ah, Captain Lou Albano. How many of my young teenaged Saturdays did I spend watching you hustle Hulk Hogan, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Andre the Giant, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, and the Hart brothers (among others)?

Rest in Peace, Lou. May your afterlife be filled with loud Hawaiian shirts and rubber bands by the gross...

That is all.

And for my generation, Captain Lou was Super Mario on the The Super Mario Bros. Super Show.

Geez-- I am remembering Killer Kowalski, Haystack Calhoun, Pepper Gomez and his cast iron stomach. Just dating myself, I guess.
