So, There's Money Burnin' A Hole In My Pocket...

As I mentioned earlier, I made a little room in the gun safe by sending off the SW99 compact 9mm to a new home. This also means that there's a good deal of money in the gun fund now. Since, of course, I have both money in the gun fund and room in the safe, this naturally means that there's nothing that's striking my fancy enough to warrant an acquisition.

There are many worthy candidates, though. Just in the local classifieds, we have:

Colt Anaconda
Colt CCO
Ruger Mk III with rail
SAR-1 with 75 rd drum
Norinco SKS Type-M (takes AK mags)

I could also go to my local gun store and order up one of the Kel-Tec Sub2000 carbines that take Sig P226 mags, or a new Ruger Mk III Hunter with fluted barrel. Or a Walther PPS.

But nothing's really making my hand reach for my wallet yet, yanno?

That is all.

*puts a vote in for the PPS*

The Anaconda might be fun if you can get it for less than $1000.00 . Have you tried a Dan Wesson .44?

I really like my Python -- how about one of those? The new Para 1911 looks to be a good buy at $599.00 Decisions, decisions...

Well . . . you're still taking the courses to qualify as a Certified Safety Instructor, no?

So . . . you want to have a few options that will make women want to dive headfirst into gunnie-dom, right?

And . . . maybe be an option for Baby G to think about, when she grows up?

Sig 239, anyone?

*grin*

(After all, since I'm still drearily waiting for my app to trickle through bureaucracy-dom, that way ONE of us could pet the pretty Sig!)

I vote for none of the above.

Wait until you find something that does strike your fancy. If you buy something now just because you have the money and space, you'll regret it later when you do see something that makes you reach for your wallet, and the money's not there.

Know what ya mean. I'm looking at a few options me-self. Found a place in NJ where I can get a neutered 9mm XDM (been admiring those since they came out). Also looking toward an AR. Nothing is speaking to me yet, though.
One thing I've learned: let the money keep burning that hole until you find what you really want.
Of course, a nice .22, like the Ruger, would work well as an intro to gunnie-dom gun.

Anaconda! I have two and love them.

I'd vote for the Anaconda, but a 44 mag without a reloading press (or plenty more money burning a hole in your pocket) isn't so useful.

Cop 357!!!! four barrels for four buggers. You only have to clean 1/4 as hard.

If you truly like shooting .22 LR like you mentioned above, you'd be crazy to not have a MK III. I love mine. Its much more accurate then I can shoot, a great gun to start people with, and its pretty short dough. The aftermarket is legendary.
