File Under "W"...

...for What Planet Did I Wake Up On?

Disgraced ex-Gov. Eliot Spitzer to lecture at ethics center; Madam says it's dumb move by Harvard U.

Hooker-loving ex-Gov. Eliot Spitzer is set to deliver a lecture Thursday at - of all places - a center for ethics at Harvard University. And the madam who supplied Spitzer's high-priced escorts said she can't imagine a less qualified speaker.

"I am greatly intrigued as to what Mr. Spitzer could contribute to an ethical discussion when, as [governor], he broke numerous laws for which he has yet to be punished," Kristin Davis wrote in a protest letter to Prof. Lawrence Lessig at The Edmond J. Safra Foundation Center for Ethics.

Yes, you read that correctly. Harvard University wants Eliot Spitzer, the NY Democrat who had to step down as governor because he was seeing a $5,000/visit prostitute, to lecture on ethics. Word is it's part of a new lineup that Harvard's trying where they match their guest speaker to the topic based on infamy rather than actual knowledge. Rumor is they have Bernie Madoff lined up to speak on reforming Social Security and Plaxico Burress will be giving a firearms safety lecture...

Sometimes, you can't do parody better than real life...

That is all.

Some people just lead by being an example of what not to do. Actually, it's probably part of Spitzer's attempt to rehabilitate his image. With the help of the liberals in the so called intelligentsia and the Lame Stream Media.

Jay... I agree with you WHAT alter universe did I wake up in? It seems like everything i grew up knowing and believing has been thrown out the window. Did somebody switch the Poles at some point and not tell us?

When I see his name I think of that great SNL skit with Bill Hader playing him & Fred Armisen playing Paterson.

".......New Jersey!"

[Look it up on hulu, it's hilarious]

BTW, this is nothing. Earlier this week MSNBC decided to have Markos Moulitsas on to discuss hateful rhetoric.....coming from the right.

"Screw them" apparently disappeared into the ether. Once again, "they" hold us to a much higher standard than "they" hold themselves against.

Which should tell them something....

Well, it was a last-minute thing. The beltway sniper was supposed to be the speaker, up until midnight the other night, when there was a change of plans.

I'm also kinda curious on what exactly the point of a Madam critiquing a politician who hired escorts on his ethics.

Not that I have problems with prostitution, their support staff, or clientele.

I do have issues with politicians, especially ones who crack down on prostitution while bedding whores...

Bear in mind that prostitutes, on average, tend to be a good deal more respectable than most politicians. At least they'll kiss you before and after they fuck you, right?

Forget the whores - at least nobody was hurt – although the height of hypocrisy that he was visiting hookers while prosecuting prostitution rings in NY.

How about the businesses and people he willfully destroyed as Attorney General just to make a name for himself so he could run for governor? The Dick Grasso case was a joke and the state of NY eventually lost in court on every point.

The real doozy was Spitzer’s lawsuit against AIG and CEO Hank Greenberg. Greenberg had been with AIG since it was founded and had run the place without a loss for decades. On trumped-up charges, Spitzer got Greenberg fired by the Board in 2005 and replaced by an idiot (Martin Sullivan). I’ve lost track of how many hundreds of $billions Spitzer has cost AIG stock holders and the U.S. taxpayers. All so a spoiled-rich asshole could get elected Governor.

Whatever he tells anyone about ethics, do the opposite.
