Vote!

Sent to me in e-mail (thanks drmac!) was a link to this story:

In White House Vs. Fox News War Of Words, Who Gets Your Vote?
The stories about what the Obama White House has to say about Fox News Channel keep coming.

There was White House communications director saying telling Howard Kurtz of The Washington Post and CNN "let's not pretend they're a news network the way CNN is."

Also last week it was NPR's David Folkenflik reporting that "the White House is taking direct aim at Fox News, the news organization that is the home to the most potent collection of its conservative critics."

Now, hatred of Fox News is nothing new. The Clinton administration - many members of which are current members of the 0bama administration - waged war against Fox over a decade ago. Fox didn't carry water for the administration like the Clinton News Network or the minions at ABCBSNBC, and was branded as "Faux News" or worse because of it. They were accused, back then, of not being a "real" news network, with liberal mouthpieces comparing Fox News' commentators with the other news networks anchors.

And still, in light of Dan Rather and the TX ANG "memo", one has to wonder...

So, please, go vote. Sure, it's an internet poll and therefore a hundred million miles away from anything even remotely "scientific". But if the poll goes their way, you know for damned sure that the 0bamanoids will be certain to trumpet it loudly and often. And I'm mighty uncomfortable with the government deciding what is - or isn't - a news agency.

Just imagine the howls of outrage if the Bush administration had declared CNN to be "not a news organization" and blocked CNN from interviewing Bush administration officials...

That is all.

Jay,

Of COURSE Fox isn't "a news network the way CNN is."

Fox actually reports NEWS, rather than parroting press releases from the Obamanaughts.

Most of Fox News isn't news, it's opinion programming(source: fox news senior vice president)
The news hours are 9am to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm.

Which makes fox and friends, Glenn Beck, O'reily, Hanity, etc are NOT NEWS. Everybody in the "Fair and Balanced" promo is NOT NEWS. They're "Opinion programming", EG: propaganda.

In other words, pretty much everything you think about when you think about fox news.

They also went to court for their "right" to manufacture news, and apparently won(only in america people).

Mikael,
Better talking points, please. We made it through the 90s with CNN having Larry King, a talk show hosted by a lefty where people spoke their opinions for an hour, and Crossfire serving as the flagship shows for the network.

It really eats you up that FNC dominates the ratings, doesn't it?

Sorry, the days of your guys covering up ACORN, the NEA and Rev. Wright are over. Deal.

"My guys"? Now I do admit I lean left, but for american politics I like the libertarians more than the democrats.

I have only marginally better esteem for CNN or MSNBC than Fox News, and that's damning by faint praise.

CNN is just as "bad" as Fox News is, maybe even worse because some people think they're actually credible.

As for me, I'll gladly go watch the Daily Show and the Colbert Report...
