I just bought a new gun. It's got a collapsible stock, accepts magazines, and a conspicuous pistol grip. It comes with a brand new 35 round drum magazine, too. Being in violation of the Assault Weapons Ban isn't the worst part of it, though. The worst part is that I'm going to give it to my son, who is too young to receive a firearm and will most likely use it to shoot his sister.
Of course, it's a Nerf™ gun:
(Not So) Heavy Weaponry
And I wasn't kidding - it really does come with a 35-round magazine:
Drum Mag!
Heh. I was on my way to buy the belt-fed Nerf™ gun that Breda mentioned in this post (complete with mini-Caleb) when this one caught my eye. It's a little more portable than the belt-fed gun, so it will come in handy at Parents' Night Out at the dojo (they often have "Nerf Wars" where the kids take on the senseis).
But fear not! TheBoy's birthday is only 6 weeks away and he will be getting the EBF-25...
That is all.

Jay,
Was the magazine made prior to 1994?
I gotta hand it to ya.... nice gift.
NICE ... i was reading the first paragraph and each time you introduced a feature my reaction was "is that legal"?
Nice pressy for your son - hope he doesn't damage his sister too much.
You can get belt-fed, full-auto Nerf guns, Nerf guns with laser sights on them, pump-action Nerf shotguns and a Nerf Gun that splits into a rifle and a pistol (which I'm pretty certain would be an NFA gun if it didn't shoot foam darts).
40 years ago kids were lusting after lever-action carbines that spat out BB's: Now they can plead with their parents for Nerf guns that would seem right at home in a game of Counter-Strike.
Cool.
re will be at least one person complaining that toy guns reduce kid's respect for real ones, leading to violations of Rules 1-4 inclusive.
My answer to that is teach them young the 4 rules; up to and including on the range. Then when they shoot their sister(s), they're not in violation of any of the rules. After all, they MEANT to do that! :)
(The 4 Rules make for some decent guidelines for ANY powerful tool.
(Frex, and off the top of my head)
# All car engines are always running!
# Never point the car anyplace you don't want to go!
# Keep your foot off the accelerator until you are ready to drive!
# Always be sure of where the car is pointed and what's down the road!
(I originally noted this when using a power drill, which makes the comparison REALLY easy)
WV: immakess (a fool of myself?)
Flee Massachusetts.
I am 15 minutes away from a gun shop where you can buy a 90 round snail magazine, or new 30 round magazines from Magpul, and normal capacity (usually 15 to 19 round) mags for all sorts of handguns, etc.
Why not choose more freedom over less?
I live in a not-free state as well; primarily because of my job. I am also staying to try and lend my vote to freedom.
Why do I think the Old man is gonna have more trigger time then the kid? ;) I understand you can really hotrod this to up the rate of fire. Check out you tube.
