More Nerdy Than Nerdy

Trek geeks unite!

World Record Set For Trekkies In Costume In London – Report & Photos

The costume gathering stunt was conducted at 1PM on Sunday at the Millennium Bridge in London.

This is the first time Guinness World Records have ever been called upon to adjudicate such an event and judges were ably assisted by Giles Aston, a Star Trek aficionado and professional ‘Captain Jean-Luc Picard’ impersonator in determining the authenticity of the participants’ cosplay attempts.

Just... Look at the pictures. It's everything you dreamed it would be: Overweight nerds in ill-fitting costumes vying for the coveted title of "Person Who Lived in their Parents' Basement the Longest". There's Klingons. There's Vulcans. There's plenty of guys who have never kissed a woman who wasn't related to them or inflatable. They're all there in their geeky glory.

And boy, do I wish I could have been there too!

That is all.

Link sent to me by SCI-FI, of course!

I have a sneaky feeling that if we just get together a group of bloggers, we could blow that record out of the water.

I'll take the redhead.

Seriously, nerds today have it too easy. In the old days, there were NO women interested in Trek or SF in general.

Kids today...

They wish they could be what the 501st is. So they get to create a new record? Big deal. Still outgeeked by the 501st being the largest costuming group in the world.
