File Under "R" for RailFarm
You knew it was coming. I knew it was coming. The instant I saw that big ol' drop-down rail, I knew that it had to be featured in a Friday pic. When I went to put it in place, I had to move the green laser from LaserLyte - so that went on the rail. I remembered the generic 4-9X scope I had sitting in the bottom of my accessory drawer (yes, not only do I have a drawer of holsters, I have a drawer of random accessories I've accumulated over the years).
Then inspiration struck:
I Can Haz Bayonet!
The Federal Assault Weapons Ban of 1994 stated that a semi-automatic rifle that accepted detachable magazines could only have one additional feature out of a list of features. One such feature is a bayonet lug - why, we'll never know, as it's not like drive-by bayonettings are on the rise. However, there's no prohibition against putting a bayonet on a "port-ban" rifle - just that said rifle cannot have a bayonet lug on it.
I think we may have a mod here - all we need is a standard AR-15 bayonet lug that attaches to a Weaver-style rail...
That is all.

Jay,
I always thought this . . . and now I've confirmed it. You are a defininte, 100% certifiable maniac. Keep up the good work.

Might work a little better if the scope were pointing the right direction... Unless, of course, you want to give the goblin a *great* view of your cornea right before he expires :).
Just don't let them take your revolver bayonet!
The AR looks heavy but to each his own.
Brad,
I blame Bush, err, living in MA...
Linoge,
Look again. The scope is on right. What do you take me for, an NYC cop? ;)
Peter,
It was for the picture only, but you're right - it did *significantly* increase the weight of the Bushmaster. Didn't like it one bit...
Scopes on top of the carry handle never made sense to me. It turns your cheek weld in to a chin weld.
Jay, you've discovered the bayonet loophole!
I had to look closely at the pic - Kudos for the first DUAL BAYONET setup!
Gonna have a little trouble getting stabbity with those bayonets, at least with the side mount you can get a good cut stroke by barrel whipping the assailant.
Seriously? The bigger, adjustable objective bell goes at the front?
Well, crap. Do I not look the fool? Sorry!
how did I KNOW something like this was gonna happen when I sent that rail? :P
My friend's grandson has a nerf sniper rifle that looks almost identical to that. Only his doesn't have a bayonet.
JayG, channeling the mind of an eight year old! :)
