Driftwood, Texas (CNN) -- Texas Gov. Rick Perry won his state's Republican gubernatorial primary outright on Tuesday, avoiding a potentially costly runoff election against Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison.
Hutchison called Perry to concede the race after returns indicated that the governor was cruising toward a resounding victory in the closely-watched primary.
It's timely simply because it ties in with one of the many Quote(s) of the Day from yesterday. I know it might be considered poor form to quote one's self, but a quick perusal of the blogs run by the folks present yesterday shows they haven't posted it yet, and I wanted to be first. The quote is mine, spoken after a discussion of MA gun permits being recognized in no other state - except TX. I mentioned that Rick Perry had extended TX's recognition of other state's gun permits to include MA. I noted how much I admired that, given that MA recognizes NO other state permit, and quipped:
If Tam can have a girl-crush on Breda, I can have a man-crush on Rick Perry.
Hey, I'm comfortable enough in my masculinity to admit my man-crushes...
That is all.

Just another in the long list of things that make Texas the best state.
You have that girl crush thing the wrong way around.
If all you looked at was Gov Good Hairs votes on gun rights you'd be right. Problem is with any politician you get the whole package.
He is great with guns and is very friendly to gun rights in Texas.
Problem is he does have his inner circle and plays favoritism with his dealings.

On the other hand, Gov. Perry is also helping to cover up the fact that Texas has almost certainly executed an innocent man. So... not such a fan.
AZ recognizes permits from all other states.

I did some campaigning for him. I always felt of all the candidates, he did the best to support fighting zombies. Check out his pictures from La Rue Tactical.
Perry's the known evil - we know his "little" flaws and how to badger, er, excuse, lobby and persuade our legislators to work around them. Kay Bailey's OK but she ran on the wrong things (the Trans Texas corridor died a while ago, Ma'am).
I don't know anything about White since he didn't campaign out here in the sticks, and Farouk Shami was a little TOO honest. It may well be true that white people are generally not willing to work as hard for as low of a wages as are members of other demographic groups, but you don't need to announce that publicly. There's more to the state than Houston and Borwnsville, sir.
Michigan also recognizes all other states resident permits.
