London, England (CNN) -- A huge plume of volcanic ash sweeping in from Iceland forced the closure of air space over Britain, Ireland and Sweden and disrupted flights across Northern Europe Thursday.
Sweden's airspace authority, LFV said the country's entire air space would shut from 10 p.m. (4 p.m. ET) due to the safety risk posed by ash to aircraft engines.
I'm *certain* that this has no effect whatsoever on global temperature and climate patterns, right? I mean, it's only affecting air travel. Certainly it will have no bearing whatsoever on temperature fluctuations as measured on the ground, right? I'm certain that the scientists who study climate change will carefully take this event into consideration and factor it into their calculations, right? No, seriously, stop laughing...
This is what bothers me most about the ZOMG GLOBAL WARMING WILL KILL US ALL people. While there may very well be a pattern of warming above and beyond that which is normal for traditional temperature fluctuations - the science is far from settled on that, even - it's even harder to show that man and man alone is responsible. All the "fixes" that have been dreamed up by the AGW crowd seem more like punishments for developed nations in general and the United States in specific.
And if we can't even predict the effect of a (completely unaffected by man) volcano eruption, it's premature to say we need to go back to living in caves ZOMG FOR TEH CHILDRENSSSS!
That is all.

I think we can all agree that this eruption was caused by global warming.
Allow me to explain the science to you mere lay people, polar bears, escaping the extreme heat of the Artic, tunneled into a vast underground lake of magma causes this release.
