Holy Crap!

Just got the septic tank pumped. It's been about two years, and we were long-overdue (yes, as surprising as it may seem, we're full of crap here at Casa del G.). I just didn't realize how expensive sucking s**t had gotten - $235 to pump the tanks out! It's well-worth it - especially when you compare it to the cost of a new septic system - but was still a little surprising (I think the last bill I remember was about $100 less).

Hmmm. I have no sense of smell - perhaps I should buy a pumper truck and start a side-business???

That is all.

Now that they're done at your place, how about sending them to Washington DC to pump out that cesspool?

I thought the last time we had ours pumped it was something like $400. I think he charges us more because we only have to have it done every 4 years (only 2 people in the household). Gotta get it done again this summer.

my parents have never had to have their system pumped, and I hope we never do.... we live out in the boonies and have a 'lagoon' (also known as a shit pond) instead of leech lines.... so hopefully we wont have to get ours pumped

If we call the local company to have them come out and pump our septic tank it costs about $300. However if I spot the truck and driver in the area and wander up to him, start a conversation and casually mention that I need to get my tank pumped if he has time, I can usually get it done for about $100 cash.
