Happy Fun Story of the Day

Al Qaeda's No. 3 Killed
WASHINGTON (AP) ― Al Qaeda announced Monday that its No. 3 official, Mustafa al-Yazid, had been killed along with members of his family - perhaps one of the most severe blows to the terror movement since the U.S. campaign against al Qaeda began. A U.S. official said al-Yazid was believed to have died in a U.S. missile strike.

A statement posted on an al Qaeda Website said al-Yazid, which it described as the organization's top commander in Afghanistan, was killed along with his wife, three daughters, a grandchild and other men, women and children but did not say how or where.

It's always a good day that starts out with the news of dead terrorists. It's even better when the terrorist in question is one of the higher-ups. It's always a heartwarming experience whenever one of the "Death to America" types finds out that "Don't run - you'll only die tired" isn't just an idle threat. The only downside to these types of stories is that we don't hear more of them...

And I still think they ought to release the video from the drones, ideally with AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" as soundtrack...

That is all.

Nah...Highway to Hell would be more appropriate, because the missile was the non-stop express which took him there.

WV: cycle

Why couldn't it be recycle? Like we *recycled* this putz back into the earth as fertilizer?

If AQ is the announcing source, why do we believe that this guy is really dead?
I dunno, seems like a disinformation operation.

+1 Hunter

If disinformation slows the drone attacks, they'll probably tell us that every other attack was successful

Agreed, 100%.
And, of course, you'll give the Obama administration full credit for pulling this off in 3...2...1...
