Typical...

Yet another "do as I say, not as I do" Democrat...

Mass. Sen. Kerry docks yacht in RI, saving $500K

BOSTON—Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry is docking his family's new $7 million yacht in neighboring Rhode Island, allowing him to avoid paying roughly $500,000 in taxes to his cash-strapped home state.

If the Isabel were kept at the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee's summer vacation home on Nantucket or in Boston Harbor near his city residence, he would be liable for $437,500 in one-time sales tax. He would also have to pay $70,000 in annual excise taxes.

Nice. This is the same yutz that yammered on and on about Bush's "tax cuts for the wealthy", and here he is deliberately avoiding paying taxes. Nice.

The MA GOP was on top of things, though:
"While we can fault the senator for his hypocrisy on taxes or having his boat built halfway around the world instead of here in the USA, John Kerry proves an important point that taxes in Massachusetts are too high. If they are too high for someone as rich as Senator Kerry, they are absolutely too high for working-class taxpayers who are being squeezed at every turn," said a statement issued by party Chairwoman Jennifer Nassour.
Check and mate, Senator Kerry.

That is all.

Thanks to #2 blogson for sending this my way!

Not so sure He'll get re-elected this time.

I think everyone's pretty tired of Lurch.

Depends who runs against him and what happens in November.

I would have thought he would have bought at least a Hinkley or a Little Harbor ( both are still US Built - Maine and RI).

......and it's funny that he waited until after Ted died before he bought a bigger ( and much more expensive) Sailboat than Ted had.

JFK still thinks he's the original JFK and wants those photo ops of him on the yacht to show he's a manly man.

In the old days, any politican who tried that would've been tarred, feathered, and run out of town on a rail.

Ask me, we've become too damn "civilized."

On another note: How much do you wanna bet that some of our tax dollars were spent payin' for that thing?

Today's version from Kerry is that his wife is the primary owner and she lives in PA, so there!

I wonder how PA taxes are on boats?

He's a weasel, but we knew that.

Not only is there the whole tax avoidance, do as I say not as I do thing . . . there's the issue of where the boat was built. At a time when New England boat builders are struggling, Sen. Kerry takes his seven large off shore and has the f*cking craft built in New Zealand. Hubris . . . they name is Lurch. John Forbes Kerry . . . definitely not the second incationtation of JFK. Meh.
