Obama’s Recorded Message to Boy Scouts Centennial Wasn’t Warmly Received
Every US president since William Howard Taft has served as the honorary president of the Boys Scouts of America. President Obama accepted his role as honorary president in March of last year. So as you know, when the 100th anniversary of the Boys Scouts came along late last month, Obama decided to… go on The View instead. Hey, when you’re down 14 points with women, an American institution like the Boy Scouts will just have to wait.I've covered Øbama's decision to skip the jamboree already, but this video is making waves around the blogosphere. Comments suggest that the Boy Scouts who booed were "put up to it", as though these young men have no minds of their own. Having been privileged to have worked with many Boy Scouts through my Cub Scout pack, I can testify first hand that nothing could be further from the truth. The young men that take the time, effort, and dedication to become Boy Scouts are not the sort to be led around by the nose. Unless there's something good cookin' on the campfire, of course.
Apologists are already claiming that it wasn't all like that; that the Scouts didn't really boo our President for making a recording to be shown at the Jamboree so he could go on The View. Only the Scouts who were present know how much booing there was or wasn't, and it's hard to tell from divergent videos, but I would like to think the Boy Scouts of America would take the high road when it comes to the de facto leader - but then again, Øbama would have to actually show signs of actual leadership for that.
In any case, it's yet another crack in the facade of our Dear Leader...
That is all.

Gee like an AD for the National Guard is really going to include the booing!
Based on my experience, you are right the Scouts themselves decided to boo or not.
What also probably happened is they were quickly called to order by their leaders, both Scout and Scouters alike.
Courteous is not just a word in the Law, but something taught and reinforced constantly.
Agreed, Scouts think for themselves, that's what makes them scouts.
While it may not have been the most polite thing to do, no one can blame them for booing if they did. It is so painfully obvious that the Lightbringer holds not only Scouts but the very core ideas of scouting in such contempt.
Sorta like a dog, if you kick it enough, it WILL bite you.
I'm with my namesake on this one. Booing isn't the courteous thing to do, but is it really unexpected?
I mean this asshole goes against everything the scouts stand for and he blew them off so he could go on The View. I can't blame some Scouts if they took offense at that.
Plus they got to stand out in the nice Virginia August sun for an hour to get to the point that they could listen to this pre-recorded message.
I hope that the adult leadership cut this stuff as soon as it was noticed, though. Even through the current occupant is not worthy of their respect, the office still is.
Gee, I thought dissent was the highest form of patriotism. Or at least it was a couple of years ago.
