Obama’s aunt was ruled at risk
The immigration judge who granted President Obama’s aunt asylum three months ago based his decision on the fact that an anonymous federal official had disclosed information about her immigration status to the media, a “reckless’’ act that exposed her to heightened threats of persecution in her native Kenya, according to the ruling, obtained yesterday by the Globe. You know who's fault this is, of course? That's right! The EEEEEVIL Chimpy McHaliburton!
Although the grant of asylum to Zeituni Onyango in May was made public, the written decision detailing the reason for it was kept under wraps because of federal privacy laws. But the secrecy sparked accusations that she had received favorable treatment.
Shapiro, a veteran immigration judge and Republican appointee, wrote harshly of the anonymous Bush administration official’s leak to the Associated Press for using confidential information for political purposes and said it was a “clear violation of federal regulations.’’Got that? It's Bush's fault we had to give special privileges to Øbama's aunt to stay in the country. Nearly two years since Øbama took office and they're still blaming Bush for everything that's wrong - even when it's clear political favoritism at play.
And this Shapiro doesn't do himself any favors, either:
In his ruling, Shapiro said Onyango’s testimony in February was sometimes confusing and inconsistent with what she said during her last quest for asylum six years ago. While Onyango did not prove that she suffered persecution while she lived in Kenya, he said he believed that her fear of future persecution was genuine.
But it's BUSH'S FAULT that her name was leaked to the media - the same media that Onyango and her lawyers were happy to talk to in her bid to stay here in the US.
Now, I am certain that neither Øbama himself nor anyone in his administration played any active role in this decision - they may be tone deaf, politically, when it comes to immigration, but they're not terminally stupid. For them to intervene in any manner in this case - especially after their vociferous admonition to not get involved would certainly be "acting stupidly".
It's just interesting that, after two failed appeals they manage to blame Bush and let her stay in the country...
That is all.

Yep, a true YGTBSM moment...
So illegal aliens now have a Right to Privacy? And she might be prosecuted because her covers blown? So does this mean we shouldn't send Nazis back to Europe for War Crimes Trials?
