Garage Fail...

EVERETT (WBZ) ― It was the most unwelcome guest at 463 Ferry Street in Everett on Wednesday afternoon.

Witnesses heard it coming, a driver they say was speeding and crash landed through the first floor of the home.

"She came down my street about 60 miles an hour, never stopped and went directly into the house," said witness Christine Cook.
Reports are conflicting, with some claiming that the woman was texting, others talking on a cell phone. Given the damage done to both the house and the vehicle, speed appears to be a factor as well. So we've got a distracted driver exceeding the speed limit in a residential area who plows into a house, causing substantial damage. By a stroke of luck the family wasn't home, nor were any pedestrians or other motorists in the way of the speeding SUV. It's only by sheer happenstance that no one was killed because of this woman's inattention and pure recklessness.

Obviously, the (MA) solution is clear: Ban SUVs.

That is all.

Obviously, your proposed MA solution is flawed. Anyone can see that banning houses would be the far safer alternative.

Was she driving a Toyota? Is the stuck accelerator defense still viable?

Not to hard to figure out if she was texting or talking or both!

But in my 50 mile each way daily commute I see so much of that.Everyone in Minnesota tries to drive and talk. Shit most of them probably could not walk and chew gun!!

And in my job as paramedic/educator we call it "Job Security"!

It is wise to incorporate barriers into your landscaping - low walls are best, trees, deeply set fence posts, decorative bricks around trees, benches.
