Lunchtime Yums...

Just to make you hungry:

BACON LT

That's the granddaddy of all BLTs right there - it's made with bacon from a local farm (in the words of Brad_in_ma, who kindly provided the bacon: "You could have petted that pig a week or two ago"). Not only is the bacon fresh, but the bread is homemade - that's some of Mom G.'s world famous homemade bread, toasted and providing the starchy foundation upon which to build the perfect bacon, lettuce, and tomato sammich.

And now that you're all hungry and droolin', go have lunch...

That is all.

Jay,

Glad you and the fam enjoyed the bacon. Hopefully Mrs.G wasn't too put off by the fact that less than two weeks ago that bacon was Wilbur.

For any and all of Jay's readers, the bacon in question is hand-crafted at Blood's Farm located in Groton, MA on the Groton / Shirley line. I've not had 'em, but their hand-made smoked sausages are supposed to be equally killer. I bet the bacon would make some killer Bredda-esque 'pig candy' too.

I was just given 20 pounds of home-grown bacon (1/4" thick!), and had some for breakfast, so I;m not too jealous. Been thinking about BLT's for luch, though...

Did you put peanut butter on it? I know, but just try it and you'll never go back to "plain" ones.

I'm a fan of bacon, lettuce, and tomato on egg salad myself.

Yet, despite my very fine Thai lunch today, this makes my mouth water.

I grew up eating our very own home-grown bacon. Haven't found anything store bought that compares.

As far as possibly having petted the pig two weeks ago, never a problem.
