So which elected officials own stakes in full-body scanning machines now in more than 60 U.S. airports? And what are those individual investments worth? The story points out that John Kerry has the most stock in L3, the company that brings us the pervoscan; but that's a little misleading. Kerry is, after all, the richest man in the Senate, (not to mention the most vain) so it's only natural that he have a wide variety of stock options that might include growth areas. And what better growth area than a business that supplies the US Government with a way to become even more intrusive then before?
We still can’t connect the dots to say that, because these Congressmen invested in these tech companies, than, ipso facto, those scanners were then put in place at airports across the country, now the subject of controversy.
And who better to know about meddling government bureaucracy than the senior senator from the Volksrepublik?
That is all.

It's time to borrow a page from a certain fantasy novel I once read.
When a person gets elected to Congress or the Presidency, their entire net worth is immediately liquidated and converted into T-bills. No other investments, foreign or domestic. No offshore accounts. No drawing on a spouse's or relative's largesse. Any violation is grounds for immediate impeachment and removal.
Oh, and any new spending they propose, five percent of their invested T-bills get cashed in and put toward the cost of that program.
The day they leave office, they cash in their T-bills and get their money back. If they've done a good job in office, they've made a profit. If they didn't, they haven't.
If you think about it, The TSA pervscans are getting worse to make the populace comply with the scanners.
The will be in front of ports, train stations, court houses, public venurs before we know it. All in the name of security.
They will need thousands of them , and who profits?
FUCKERS>.. all of them.
Wolfwalker what book was that?
L3 also makes EOTech holographic sights. I wonder if I should boycott them now? Or does that mean that Kerry is also pro-gun?
Love Wolfwalker's idea :-)
Screw the T-bills. We need lots and lots of rope.
At least it's a bi-partisan effort...assholes in both parties.
Don't forget about ol' Skeletor himself, former DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff, whose consulting firm, the Chertoff Group, represents the makers of the Rapiscan machine.
PISSED: it comes from a throwaway bit in David Eddings's The Shining Ones, book 2 of the trilogy called "The Tamuli." Eddings was a second-rate writer at best, and his output is mostly mind candy. But occasionally he came up with some wonderfully silly stuff. Such as the form of government used on the Isle of Tega.
Thanks Wolfwalker

True, but apparently some of these people don't own stock in publishers that print dictionaries which contain the word "recuse". To the best of my knowledge, there is no Constitutional restraint placed on abstaining to vote or calling up one's broker to say, "Sell!"
I understand Ernst Stavro Blofeld, er, rather, George Soros has or had a stake, as well.
