Addin' to the Count...

Reader Kevin keeps the DGC count rolling before the end of the year with this story of armed self-defense out of GA:

Rockdale County Man Shoots, Kills Suspected Assailent[sic]
A suspected robber is dead, and another on the run after a shooting in the parking lot of a Ingles grocery store in Rockdale County. The incident happened at the Ingles in 2400 block of Salem Road Saturday.

The Rockdale County Sheriff's Office said a shopper was getting out of his car at approximately 8:15 p.m. when he was attacked and held at knifepoint by two men. Investigators said the shopper struggled with the two men but was able to fire a weapon killing one of them. Deputies said the second suspect was still on the loose as of Saturday evening.
That, right there people, is exactly how it is supposed to be done. He was jumped by two assailants (please note correct spelling, and I'm not a trained journalist, just a chimp with spell-check...), was injured in the attack, and used his lawfully-carried sidearm to stop the attack. This is pretty much a textbook example of how it's done, as well as being pretty much the archetype for armed self-defense. And in this case, the good guy prevailed; one attacker is stopped permanently, the other will at least hopefully think twice before another such assault.

Dead Goblin Count: 102

That is all.
