And Then There Was One...

Gunblogger Conspirator Lokidude sends in the last double digit DGC addition:

Suspect shot dead in attempted robbery of Marietta liquor store
One suspect was fatally shot and another fled the scene after exchanging gunfire with a liquor store clerk during a robbery attempt in Marietta on Saturday night, Cobb County police said.

Investigators say two men entered the Windy Hill Bottle Shop in the 2400 block of Windy Hill Road around 11:35 p.m. and approached the clerk. One of the men produced a handgun, and so did the clerk, police said.
That's a pretty damn ballsy move on the clerk's part, pulling his gun when the goblin already had the drop on him. As it turns out, both goblins were armed, and both fired on the clerk after the clerk fought back. Fortunately, the clerk had the better aim, and prevailed in the fight, taking out one goblin in the process and sending the other running for his life.

This provides another data point for going for a sidearm even with an armed assailant. It's a tough call to make - if the goblin already has their weapon out and pointed at you, making a sudden move for a concealed weapon may cause him to start shooting. Then again, there's plenty of cases where folks gave the goblin what they wanted and then got shot anyways, either because the goblin was psychotic or just didn't want to leave any witnesses.

It's a decision I hope I never have to make, but if I should, I hope I do as well as this liquor store clerk.

Dead Goblin Count: 99

That is all.

You know what warms my heart today? The dead goblin count is higher than the homicide count in my neck of the woods.

I'm preping the bottle of Remy Martin XO for the big 1-0-0.

Or, a trip to the range, haven't decided which yet.

Both!

Just, err, not at the same time.

And in the reverse order...

As far as drawing when they have the drop on you; better to go down fighting! Here's where practicing with a carry rig comes into play. Muscle memory means a lot and most, though not all by any means, most Goblins do not practice with a shooting iron the way gunnies are like to.

I enjoy your dead Goblin tally immensely.
