DGC Count Update...

Commenter Kevin points out that DGC #110 is a duplicate of #102. The count has been adjusted to reflect this - we stand at 110, not 111. Sorry about that, folks - I'm chalking it up to the general lack of information available in news reports of self-defense shootings (with a healthy helping of "Jay didn't read for comprehension". PISSED asked me what the "rules" were for DGC additions. I've got a few ideas down and will try to have something a little more "formal" (well, as formal as I get here) later this week.

However, Kevin was kind enough to send in another DGC, so that the total would remain the same:

Police: Grocery store owner shoots 2, kills 1 during ambush in east Houston

HOUSTON – Police were investigating Saturday after the owner of a grocery store shot two men who ambushed him outside his east Houston business.

Authorities said the owner of Shew Food Market near the corner of Canal and 76th was walking from the parking lot towards his store around 11:00 a.m. when two suspects ambushed him. The owner then opened fire, striking both suspects. One of the men died at the scene while the other was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

It's a common tactic - jump the small business owner as he brings the day's receipts to the bank - only this time they got more than they bargained for. They probably staked out the grocery store for a while, observing when he left, whether anyone accompanied him, etc. They just forgot to note if he looked like a sheep or a sheepdog.

And paid the price for that difference.

Dead Goblin Count: 111

That is all.

If that's the one I think, it happened pretty close to the hat trick you posted earlier this week. This probably means Houston's goblins are incredibly dumb, but it also seems to indicate that the last store owner started something very good.
