Northeast Bloggers Third Annual Winter Social AAR...

So, last Saturday after an intrepid baker's dozen of us crazy New England gun bloggers, commenters and other assorted internet types got through touring the Sig Academy, we retired to Jillian's Billiards in Manchester for dinner, drinks, and pocket billiards. There were more than a few folks there as evidenced by the attendees list:

SCI-FI & B

Libertyman

Mopar & Cher

Chad

Wally

Colin

Andrew

Marko

JD & wife

Doubletrouble & Mrs Doubletrouble

TOTWTYTR

LWJ

JoeMerchant24
Weer'd Beard
Wolfwalker

Bruce

We were also joined by Dave Grimshaw and George Harris from Sig Academy (as well as George's wife Linda).

As all blogger dinners go, most of the time was spent jawing with folks around you, migrating up and down the table seeing what the hot topics of conversation were, and trying to shovel bits of food in between conversations. Here's what the table looked like for most of the night:

Cats? Herded.

There were an even two dozen people present for the dinner, making this by far the largest yet of the winter socials. There were easily that many independent conversations going at any given time, with as many opinions, thoughts, and comments as there were folks to voice them. We talked about guns (of course), politics (ditto) but also some sports (there was some football game on that some people found fascinating) and many other avenues of chatter.

We also had celebrities present:

Major Caudill himself

JayneBeard

Once we finished dinner (and waited for our harried waitress to split the bill twenty different ways!), we grabbed a couple of pool tables and commenced to make fools of ourselves demonstrate our prowess with a pool cue. Bet you didn't know that newly minted NH State Representative Bruce was a pool shark:

He's a Ringah!

All in all it was just a fantastic evening, an amazingly awesome cap to a near-perfect day (I didn't buy a gun; if I'd been able to secret away one of the P290s it would indeed have been perfect...) ;) It's funny - folks thank me for organizing these meets (you're all very welcome) and I feel like I don't deserve the thanks - I enjoy these functions so much that the work beforehand (and it is a fair amount of work) comes easy. There are a lot of e-mails and phone calls before it comes together, but it does come together.

Now... Let's start thinking about the next meet - I have it on good authority that a blog celebrity will be here in March...

That is all.

Yay! I'm glad you all had a such a great time! And why does it not surprise me AT ALL to find that Bruce is a pool shark? :)

I am not at liberty to talk about the Scandinavian Weer'd Cloning Facility, nor the plans of building a Weer'd Clone Army.

Also if I was at liberty to comment, I would say it was a baseless statement, and holds no ground in truth!
