Doing It Wrong, Writ Large...

NY TV exec gets 25 years to life for beheading wife
(CBS/WIVB/AP) BUFFALO, N.Y. - Muzzammil Hassan, a former upstate New York television executive, has been sentenced to 25 years to life for beheading his wife.

Hassan expressed deep regret as he was given the maximum sentence in Erie County court in Buffalo on Wednesday morning.

Funny how they all seem to exhibit "deep regret" right around sentencing time. The jury didn't buy Hassan's claim that it was a self-defense beheading, apparently. Here's the kicker:
Together, the Hassans started the Muslim-oriented Bridges TV network as a way to counter negative media images of Muslims after 9/11 and build cultural understanding.

Um... Yeah.

Beheading your wife because she was about to divorce you ain't the way to "counter negative... images of Muslims", sparky...

That is all.

In the Bugs Bunny/Daffy Duck short "Ali Baba Bunny" a crucial plot device was the turban-clad yahoo chasing the duck with a scimitar and frequently shouting, "Hassan CHOP!"

Being that the article's actor has the last name Hassan, maybe this here case is proof that...well...uh...maybe just some folks are plain whacko.

Life? That's just wrong.

Does NY not have the death penalty?

Jake: No, sorry, no capital punishment here. New York is working very hard to reach the same level of enlightenment that Massachusetts has attained.

I knew that self-defense claim wouldn't stand, not for a beheading. He would have done better if he'd claimed his cultural heritage demanded that he defend his honor. They love that multiculturalism stuff here.

Game, Set & Match!

Do they really wonder why we distrust their "peaceful" intentions? I'd say this fool just proved every redneck (me) American correct in their belief that Islamic fundamentalism is alive and well here in America (for at least the next two years).
