DC Meditations, First Day...

Day One of the "Clampetts Invade DC" saga is behind us. Yesterday we took our first trip into DC, opting for the Metro from the closest station to our hotel. Yes, DC traffic really is that bad - I saw how some of these jamokes drive just on the highway and didn't want any part of trying to join them in city congestion... We got in on the later side, walked around until lunch time, then took the kids to see the National Spy Museum.

The Spy Museum is exceedingly cool - you aren't allowed to take any pictures, though, which is both understandable and also exceedingly unfortunate. However, I was able to take a few really nice shots around town...

Next we're off to visit the Pentagon and the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum - expect LOTS of pics from today!

That is all.

I think you will be highly dissappointed that you didn't plan to spend more time at the Udvar-Hazy center. The place is huge and has so many awesome planes that you could easily spend a day or two trying to see it all.

"you aren't allowed to take any pictures," That sounds like a challenge, it's a spy museum act like a spy and get some pictures from inside.

The Spy Museum is awesome. The gift store rocks, too.

I'm so glad to hear you are enjoying both our fantastic museums AND our awesome traffic!
