Man shot dead was trying to rob home
Any guesses how this would have turned out had the homeowner not been armed? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Something tells me this choirboy wasn't trying to sell Amway products at a half hour before midnight. Read through the comments, too, about the area of town - that's exactly the kind of area that needs more law-abiding citizens with firearms. The more goblins can be dispatched, the more the problem becomes self-correcting.VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A 23-year-old Virginia Beach man was breaking into a house Wednesday night when a person living there shot him dead. The home invasion turned homicide happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Rose Marie Avenue in the Aragona section of the city.
Police said Shawn Thomas Ross, of the 5100 block of Settlers Park Drive, entered the home with a handgun attempting a home invasion robbery. He was shot once inside the home.
Dead Goblin Count: 158
That is all.

It IS a good way to start the week. But this:
"The home invasion turned homicide..."
Homicide? Really? With no files charged at "this point", it might be a little early for the reporter to use the word homicideee to describe this incident.
Jim,
JUSTIFIABLE homicide. The 'journalist' wasn't accurate. Go figure.

Brad beat me to it. Justifiable homicide is still homicide.
It's just gratifying to see the correct person get homicided... ;)
Aragona section? Damn, that wasn't a bad to live when I was stationed at Dam Neck (Home of Seal Team 6, er Devgroup, er you know who I mean) back in the 80's. The bad neighborhood was Hilltop down to the strip, and that was more a bunch of Beach Bums getting High and peeing on other people's yards. Probably spillover from Norfolk.
this is the COMMONWEALTH. we dont take kindly to people busting in our houses round here. You know you're gun laws are good when the brady bunch rates texas as a better state than you -)
