SR1911

SW1911

Two 1911s. Both offered from companies based in New England - neither of which is Colt. Both new for 2011, the 100th anniversary of the greatest invention from John Moses Browning (PBUH). Both are faithful recreations of the iconic handgun that has participated in every war, police action, and humanitarian effort in which our armed forces have been involved in the past 100 years. Either would be a fine addition to any armory.
Is this a great country or what?
That is all.

Not for Nuttin' but Hilton Yam has yet to break his S&W

I happen to have two that I haven't managed to break yet either.
Not saying the Ruger can't, just sayin' I ain't seen it yet!
Of course we're talking apples-to-apple pie here, as the S&W1911 retails for almost twice that of the Ruger.
If I have to choose between the 2, I'll take the Smith. However, I would prefer an STI 1911 for myself.
And you can't buy either of them.
How long does it take to get a new S&W on the list?
Both should be on the next revision of the Approved Roster. It comes out once a year, and both Ruger and Smith & Wesson have been good about getting their guns approved.
I'm hoping to get at least the Ruger for testing... ;)
Just wondering when does this list of guns we can buy end? Is there an end in sight so we can say buy something from springfield armory or a new glock? How do we vote to get this list abolished?

January 4 2012, I'm getting that s&w.
Price wise I say Ruger. I like the S&W especially the bobbed grip but price is at least double.
