It was after the Comcast debacle that I decided it was time to investigate alternate forms of connectivity should they be needed. With the advent of the Verizon iPhone and a fortuitously timed "early upgrade" notice, I was able to upgrade for the price of the phone (ironically less than what I paid for my iTouch last year...). I went with the iPhone out of familiarity - I've been using the iTouch for over a year now, and I'm familiar with the apps and quirks. Plus I figured I'd get the unlimited data package while it was still unlimited.
Now I just need an IRC client that works with Verizon...
That is all.

Jay,
Have you installed the ballistic computer app?

IRC client? Try Colloquy, from the App Store.
Turk beat me to it. I use Colloquy on the Ipad (AT&T).
Sniff... Brings a tear to my eye.
As demonstrated in Pittsburgh, Verizon blocks the standard IRC ports. Just FYI.
I still refuse. Hell, I never even had a cell phone until I got married and my wife made me get one
GarminFone, Android!!!
Down with iApple!!!
(What? The iMac won't turn on??
What did you do to it, Boy????)
For the IRC thing, try VPN? Can't block what they can't see.
