Look Out Sal!

We have a winner for "Oddest Way To Die, Animal Edition":

2 people die as bear flies through SUV

A bizarre auto accident involving two vehicles and a bear has left two people and the bear dead, Canadian authorities said.

Police in Quebec said a 300-pound male black bear wandered onto a road and was struck by an eastbound Pontiac Sunfire. The impact sent the animal hurtling through the air, where it smashed the windshield of a westbound Nissan Pathfinder sport utility vehicle and went out through the back window, regional police spokesman Officer Martin Fournel said.

In this case, a "bear in the air" wasn't a police helicopter, but an ursine missile...

That is all.

This happens in an instant, I can't imagine what it must be like to have a hundred plus pound animal come thru your windshield.

On the other hand....
If some years after I passed a friend or two were at the local watering hole trading tales I think I'd be okay with being the subject...

Friend 1: "Nope, there's worse ways to go.... Remember Miller?"

Friend 2: "Mmmhmmm....yeah....you have a point there."

Innocent Bystander: "Who? What happened to him?"

F1: "met a bear under unfortunate circumstances."

F2: *snorts into beer* "Yeah, like a seventy MPH closure rate...."

Yeah....I'm okay with that.

Not a good way to go, but at least it was quick... Vehicles vs. BIG animals usually the people lose.

Like PISSED says: coulda been worse, coulda been a moose. An eighteen-wheeler might come through a collision with a moose in decent shape, but I don't think anything smaller would have much of a chance.
