From Stretch:
Top one is a No.4 MkI* made by Savage Arms in your home state back in 1941. The phrase was "Arsenal of Democracy." In Churchill's History of The Second World War he writes of waiting for shipment of precious rifles from America. This is one of those rifles. And Barron puts up some pictures of his Lee Enfield - notice the bayonet attached, which he says "with the Bayonet of course, we need that for Jay." I'm honored. The lower one is a No.4 MkII made in 1955, the last year of production. Markings indicate it was bound for forces in Ulster but inspection stamps show it remained in storage until shipped to US in the '90s. It has never been fired.
So, there you have it, special non-Friday gun pr0n to make up for the misidentification!
That is all.

Must be because of your little SMLE flap! ;)
I may take some pics of my 1904 SMLE this week.
Really I should send it to Oleg.
We'll have to bring all these Enfields to the NE Blogshoot and have a mini Enfield shoot. I'll bring my No.4 Mk I, it hasnt been out of the safe for a few years anyway.
Mopar . . . .
Have you ever tried shooting The Mad Minute?
A minor correction Jay, that wasn't my Enfield, it's the father in laws. And he uses it during hunting season.
The bayonet is in case the elk decides to give one last charge. ;)
Brad... no, but I suspect because I'm a southpaw I'd be a little slower then a rightie.
