Saw this kicking around the web and just had to give it some love:

The sheer ridiculousness of the Federal raid on Gibson has kept me from commenting on the events. Armed Federal agents stormed the Gibson factory, sent employees home, and confiscated material at the plant over the status of wood the company imported from Madagascar. They sent machine gun toting (or perhaps short-barreled shotguns) Feds to a business that makes guitars - a world-renowned company whose guitars are used by virtuosoes of the craft - over the status of how the wood was imported.
Let that sink in for a second.
Whether a box was checked on a form or not is enough to have gun-toting agents storm your business and effectively shut you down for whatever period of time they'd like. Gibson has not, to the best of my knowledge, resumed making guitars a month later. Their business has been ceased; their ability to contribute to the economy stalled; all over the status of a small piece of wood used in the creation of their guitars. Gibson claims the wood is imported legally and has documentation; the Federal government still a month later hasn't given justification for the raid.
It's a delicious irony, is it not, that Jerry Garcia, icon to a generation of leftists, used Gibson guitars?
That is all.

You are right..that IS excellent!
Gibson contributes to Republicans, their competitors to Democrats.
Does that explain it?
The problem with stories like this is that there IS no intelligent response. The only response suitable is an insanely long string of explicatives followed by grabbing one's rifle and heading to the ramparts.
The Chigago [Holder] way.

How does blogger know?
Chicago....whatever.
Gibson needs to make a "Molon Labe" line of instruments!!!
They could even inlay some real spent brass in the fret-board!
How awesome would that be?!? Hell, I'd learn how to play just to have an excuse for having one!
