One Month (Minus a Day)...

Newly licensed gunnie Brad_in_MA e-mailed me yesterday to remind me that there's one month to National Ammo Day. November 19th marks the seventh annual Ammo Day, started in 2004 with the goals of:
The goal of National Ammo Day is to empty the ammunition from the shelves of your local gun store, sporting goods, or hardware store and put that ammunition in the hands of law-abiding citizens.  Make your support of the Second Amendment known--by voting with your dollars!

There are an estimated 75 MILLION gun owners in the United States of America.  If each gun owner or Second Amendment supporter buys 100 rounds of ammunition, that’s 7.5 BILLION rounds in the hands of law-abiding citizens!
100 rounds. One month away. If money's tight, pick up a box of CCI Mini-mags for $7 at Wal-Mart. If things are good, get five boxes of premium ammo for your favorite long-distance rifle (in G-d's Own Caliber, of course). Buy a brick (or two) of your favorite .22LR. Get out to your local gun shop - not a chain or box store - and get two boxes of your preferred carry ammunition.

November 19th 2011 - get out and buy ammo!

That is all.

It's a good day to make sure you cycle out your carry ammo. At a minimum, fire off what lives in your magazines, replace that with your existing stock (you do keep at least enough on hand to replace what you're carrying, right?) and buy enough new to replace that.

And if you can afford to shoot more, buy more (or build up your stock if you need to - like I do).
